The link between the two bands is well established. Hot Chip member Al Doyle played guitar in the touring line-up of LCD Soundsystem for a period.
The pairing is an enticing prospect. Both bands are known for their electrifying live shows. Hot Chip often completely reinvent their songs in a live setting and also play regular covers -- for a time they ended their set with a version of 'Nothing Compares 2 U' by Prince.
Meanwhile, LCD Soundsystem have a reputation for taut, visceral performances. "These gigs promise to be absolutely gob-smackingly brilliant, coming on the back of each band's recent album releases and a summer rammed with set-honing festival appearances," wrote Hot Chip on their website.
Hot Chip's fourth album, 'One Life Stand', was released in February. LCD Soundsystem's third, 'This Is Happening,' came out in May.
Hot Chip and LCD Soundsystem play:
London Alexandra Palace, England (Nov. 10)
Cardiff International Arena, Wales (Nov. 12)
Sheffield Magna Arena, England (Nov. 13)
Manchester Apollo, England (Nov. 15)
