In a schedule released by record label RCA, their fifth album is slated for a US release date of Oct. 19, according to Direct Current Music.
It would mark the follow to their 2008 album 'Only by the Night' which spawned such huge hits as 'Sex On Fire' and 'Use Somebody.'
Despite pleas from management and their record label, the band have remained steadfast in their wish to play their new songs live, as previously reported by Spinner -- "It would feel like we had our hands tied," said frontman Caleb Followill said.
But of course actually playing live shows can't be be taken for granted after the infamous recent pigeon incident in the US, where a pigeon defecated from the rafters onto bassist Jared Followill, prompting the band to end their show after only three songs.
They headline the V Festival in Chelmsford and Staffordshire on Aug. 21 and 22 -- let's hope the festival has its anti-pigeon hardware oiled and ready for action.
