The Montreal seven-piece unveiled a cover of Reatard's 'Oh it's Such a Shame' -- a cut off his 2006 solo debut 'Blood Visions' -- at Philadelphia's Mann Center on Monday night, Pitchfork reports. The track had previously been re-interpreted by Deerhunter on a 2008 split-single that also included the Tennessean's version of Deerhunter's 'Fluorescent Grey.'
Jay Reatard released two solo albums for Matador prior to his death in January this year at the age 29. He also amassed an extensive catalogue of recordings with his bands the Reatards, the Lost Sounds and more.
Arcade Fire are in the midst of a North American tour that finishes up with an Aug. 14 gig in Toronto. They will follow that trek up with a series of festival and arena shows in Europe, include headline slots at late August's Reading/Leeds weekender.
