Franklin's doctors have advised her to go through a few more tests as soon as possible. The 68-year-old soul singer was scheduled to perform for the first time in Brooklyn on Aug. 2 and Aug. 12, but because of her injuries, she hopes to reschedule those free gigs for the end of the summer.
"I was very much looking forward to being in Brooklyn and having a foot-long hot dog at Coney Island," Franklin said in a statement. "Hopefully I will get it before the end of August."
Franklin was also scheduled to make an appearance at embattled Congressman Charlie Rangel's birthday party on Aug. 11. The singer recently made headlines when she shared the stage with former US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice in Philadelphia.
