Allman Brothers Returning to the Stage in November

The Allman Brothers Band will return to the stage a lot sooner than expected with a trio of shows scheduled on Nov. 18 -20 at Boston's Orpheum Theatre. The concerts will open the band's upcoming "Evening With" fall tour.

The shows will mark the first time the southern rockers have performed since singer and keyboardist Gregg Allman underwent a liver transplant on June 23, which forced the band to cancel an appearance at Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival.

"I'm ready," Allman said in a statement. "I've been itching to play since I got the operation and am glad to be back. Can't thank everyone enough for their help and support."

According to Rolling Stone, Allman is also planning to play a few solo shows at New Brunswick's Harvest Jazz and Blues Festival in September.

Tickets for the Boston gigs go on sale on Aug. 12, and future tour dates will be announced soon.
