Speaking to The Sun, the artist behind Florence and the Machine admitted her management controlled her finances; this despite her huge success in the past year. Flo's debut album 'Lungs' has been one of the biggest sellers in both this year and 2009, earning three platinum discs along the way.
It was released last July, but has stayed in the charts every since, thanks in part to the many awards Welch has won, including best British album at the Brit Awards earlier this year.
The flamboyant artist has also maintained a relentless touring schedule, playing many festivals this summer including a headline appearance at Latitude.
Welch told The Sun that shopping binges in the past meant she could not be trusted with a credit card.
"I'm really bad with money so I'm not allowed a card," she said. "The one time I got access to the credit card belonging to my publishing account, I went on a month-long spending spree -- restaurants, taxis, clothes, more clothes. I was so freaked out by my capacity for spending."
