"We started writing a couple of songs together before recording the album started," Frampton tells Spinner. "Both were good but 'Road to the Sun' stuck out pretty huge! So, when co-producer Chris Kimsey and I were listening to all the songs to choose for 'Thank You Mr. Churchill,' I slipped in the acoustic demo of our song with Julian singing. I said nothing as Chris started to listen and he immediately said, 'Ooh, this is a good one ... and who's that singing?' So, I got to make a very excited call to Julian and tell him he was going to be on the new album."
After Julian got his vocals on the album, the father-and-son team has also taken this show on the road and played the song on Frampton's tour. "Julian has performed with us over a dozen times now and the people have given him their stamp of their approval over and over again," Frampton says. "I know I'm biased but I tend to agree with them."
