Video: 'Place Called Grace: The Phone Demos'
Highlight: As lush imagery of a 1920s jazz club unfolds, you are listening to the intimate, raw sounds of a phone-recorded demo. How did it all come together for the soul-funk songstress? "I was really fortunate to grow up with some great friends who were also extremely talented in the arts. It was especially cool for me to be able work on this video with one of my longtime friends short film director Sarah Michelle Brown, as well as the lovely and talented choreographer Lisa Auguste from 'So You Think You Can Dance' Canada," Saidah Baba Talibah tells Spinner. "They did a really great job of encapsulating the same qualities that the Phone Demos EP do -- stripped down grit, raw, authentic simplicity and the lo-fi look and feel of the 1920s."

@Bo Jangles... That's the point of the phone demos. A new sound, not the overproduced nonsense that gets played over and over.
Great video, unique sound.
Cool visuals but the audio ruins the video unfortunately...it should have changed to cleaner sounding audio after 20 seconds in...IMO.
Definitely doesn't do Salidah's voice justice by using sub-par audio for the WHOLE song.
SMH.
