The group -- now including keyboardist Ryan Monroe, lead guitarist Tyler Ramsey, bassist Bill Reynolds, and drummer Creighton Barrett -- recorded and mix the album at several studios, including one where the Beach Boys recorded 'Pet Sounds.' The result is a song collection that manages to be simultaneously ethereal and catchy, sending 'Infinite Arms' into the American Top 10, a first for a Band of Horses album.
During a tour stop in Toronto, Bridwell and Reynolds -- sporting a smart western ensemble -- sat down with Spinner to discuss the album's hectic recording process, their use of the Internet in the creative process and how the exhumed "Frank Sinatra chamber" led to the album's signature sound.
