What's That Song From the Hellmann's Mayonnaise 'Love Notes' Commercial?

'L.O.V.E.,' V V Brown
Having been around for more than a century, Hellmann's has advertised its trademark condiment using everything from animated spots with cheesy yet unforgettable slogans to ads that tell you why life wouldn't be complete without mayonnaise. So when the sandwich spread maker wanted something fresh for its squeezable Hellmann's Light mayo, it recruited UK indie pop singer V V Brown's 'L.O.V.E.' to provide the soundtrack.
Skipping any form of narration, the 30-second ad jumps into the opening drumbeats of 'L.O.V.E.' and asks you how you spread your love. The ad answers its own question with a series of simple messages penned (or, rather, "mayo-ed") on sandwiches. Reminiscent of the notes you used to pass around in the classroom, the message include sentiments like like "Hi!" or "Good luck" that you can write to the special person you're making lunch for.
V V Brown, who's currently opening for Maroon 5 on a US tour, has been singing and playing the piano since she was a child in Northampton, England. A self-professed nerd and an honor student, the then-Vanessa Brown was accepted into a number of top universities in the UK, but she passed on higher education to pursue a music career. Brown's debut album, 'Travelling Like the Light,' was released in 2009 and has been building up a fan base wherever she goes.
Thanks to her quirky sounds, bold vocals and cheeky lyrics, many of her songs have been used in various TV shows and commercials. 'L.O.V.E.' has also appeared on 'Brothers & Sisters,' 'Melrose Place' and in promos for 'Cougar Town.'
Though only a snippet of Brown's lighthearted doo-wop-vibe tune plays, 'L.O.V.E.' is so infectious that you'll want to hear it every time you make a ham and cheese sandwich -- with mayo, of course.
