Marky, who joined the Ramones in 1978 after previous drummer Tommy had quit the band, will perform a full concert of music by the famed New York punks at the Musicians Institute Concert Hall on Oct. 10.
The show will benefit the Marky Ramone Drum Scholarship at the Musicians Institute Concert Hall, with the full line-up, expected to be many of Ramone's rock star friends, set to be confirmed later this month.
The drummer said of the concert and the scholarship, "I am very honoured to be chosen as an artist for the scholarship programme. Music for kids is very important to have."
Two years ago, Marky Ramone put his name to a sex education campaign where condoms, lubricant and other resources were packaged inside a tin with Marky Ramone's emblem on its outside.
Marky Ramone is the only surviving member of the longest-running Ramones line-up, and served with the band for 15 years.
