Introduced to each other by Sunn O))) -- the high priests of drone metal -- way back in 2005, Astbury and Boris finally got together when the band sent the singer a number of ideas.
"Late last year I got 10 pieces of music and to really blew me away," Astbury told BBC 6 Music. "Working on a whole album would've taken a long time so we focused on three songs."
Comparing the experience of working with Boris to that of his recent collaboration with Slash, Astbury said, "This was way more involved. Slash arranged an afternoon in LA and his persona is incredibly different from Boris.
"Slash is far more out front and more of a character in that sense and I think his music is larger than life whereas Boris are far more introverted and far more experimental and far more complex."
