Ryan Adams Plans Even More New Releases

Remember when Ryan Adams said he quit music? Then he started releasing albums at a breakneck pace. Then he quit music again. Now he's back and planning to release albums at a breakneck pace again. As Spinner reported earlier this summer, Adams plans to release a couple of albums that have been on the shelf since 2006. That's a long shelf life but they promise to be filled with vintage material considering they're culled from an era that saw such albums as 'Cold Roses,' 'Jacksonville City Nights, '29' and 'Easy Tiger' all released in quick succession. As NME.com reports, Adams took to Facebook to announce that the archival double release 'III/IV' -- attributed to Ryan Adams & the Cardinals -- will soon be available both digitally and on vinyl, as well as a solo LP entitled 'Blackhole.' That alone should give fans plenty to chew on this fall.
But wait, there's more: "I've been working on a second batch of tunes," Adams posted this week on his Facebook page. "I imagine the new solo LP will be ready next year." And we imagine that it won't end there. Adams further explained that, unlike his recent limited-edition sci-fi metal concept album 'Orion,' the fall releases will neither be "staggered" nor limited. "Everyone will be taken care of," he writes. "I'm happy. Now back to work."
Wait a minute -- did Ryan Adams just say he's happy? Maybe things aren't back to the way they were, after all. Congratulations, sir -- now get cracking!
