Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly's eBay Gig Raises £2,000 for Pakistan

Sam Duckworth, the UK artist who records under the name Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly, has raised £2,110 ($3,280) for Oxfam's Pakistan flood relief fund by auctioning a gig on eBay.

As reported in Spinner, the politically engaged musician offered to play a solo acoustic set at the home of the highest bidder, anywhere in the UK. Now the winner of the prize has been revealed as a fan based in Worcester, who prevailed after 42 bids had been offered.

Pakistan has been devastated by higher than usual monsoon rains, but the aid community has complained that donations and international support have not been sufficient to meet the challenges it faces.

When Duckworth fits in the gig remains to be seen, as he is gearing up for the release of his third, eponymous album on Sept. 13. After playing the Leeds Festival this Thursday (Aug. 26) and the Ivy Live Festival, Ivybridge (Sept. 11), Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly are on tour from Sep. 16, when he plays the Hippodrome, Kingston Upon Thames.
