Warp announced their marquee signing earlier this month, when Spinner reported the work would likely involve Hopkins and Abrahams. The electronica label has yet to reveal what the album actually sounds like, though Eno's Web site now gives release dates -- Nov. 15 for the UK, Nov. 2 elsewhere -- and a choice of formats, some with artwork from the ambient pioneer himself.
A collector's edition box set, restricted to 250, comes with a numbered screen print, signed by Eno and created using " the generative process that Brian has been developing throughout his career" so that each is unique. Presumably less rare is a limited-edition box set comprising heavyweight vinyl, two CDs and a lithographic print, with no mention of numbers.
The album also comes as a digipak CD or digital release, including a 24-bt WAV file from Bleep.com. All that remains now is to hear the thing. According to Abrahams, the three have jammed together over a period of several years, but all that has been heard of their output so far is the score for Peter Jackson's film 'The Lovely Bones' and occasional improvised performances.
