Robert Plant Reveals Life of Crime Before Led Zeppelin

Robert Plant may have made his millions as the frontman of Led Zeppelin but he has revealed a shady past that included stealing.

The singer has admitted he used to take fuel out of cars and steal milk in the early hours of the morning, reports The Daily Express.

He also revealed that pre-Led Zeppelin he and his bandmates from the group Band of Joy, including John Bonham, were on the 'point of starvation' in the mid 1960s.

He said, "We were better at siphoning petrol out of parked cars than we were at pulling crowds. We all meant it. We were at the point of starvation and would get involved in thievery.

"We would nick bottles of milk off the doorsteps in Manchester at 5am while tenants were waking up."

The name 'Band of Joy' might be familiar to some after the singer announced earlier this summer that he would be taking his new band on the road for a UK autumn tour, under the name of Robert Plant and the Band of Joy, as previously reported by Spinner. Their album, entitled 'Band of Joy', is due for release on Sept. 13.

theif-oh well. as for RP not wanting to work with Zep-one of those members is dead, least we forget. This group is not your average ordinary band. To never go on again as Zep is the right thing, I think RP knows it and besides, HIS is the VOICE that has to do the frontman work.... as much as we would all hearing the music of Zep again.....c'mon, if nothing else, Roberts voice has grown older, just as everyones has.
To me, they will always be the Rock Gods I remember. The 4 of them together. No one can top that. Not even 3 older versions of them.

seems like the cd band of joy is gonna be really god, but i would hope robert goes back to making cd's with the strange sensation they seemed very promising. and i enjoy original music,i hate his live zeppelin takes on things these days i feel it's so re worked that it does not even reegister a familuar tune, he should stick with his solo work and forget zepllein, leave that to the boot legs!

Milk does the body good. I cant understand how these singers get locked up for possession of drugs and go on singing. I know people that have had felonies and no one wants to hire them. Its unreal.

I imagine a lot of us have done things in our lives that we are not proud of. It would be a good thing to make amends if possible and be a better person than before. Still now & then i like to crank up some Zeppelin.

I thought they did away with milk delivery a long time ago I know they used to deliver ice too, but they didn't leave it on your doorstep. I seen that on the Three Stooges. Ha
