Slash Files for Divorce After Nine Years of Marriage

After a nine-year marriage, guitar hero Slash has filed for divorce from his wife Perla Ferrar, TMZ reports. Legal documents filed within the Los Angeles County Superior Court are said to cite "irreconcilable differences," with Slash seeking joint custody of their six and eight-year-old sons.

Slash has been on the offense this year, heavily promoting his eponymous solo debut, which was released in April. His North American tour kicked off this past weekend at the Sunset Strip Music Festival in Los Angeles, where he was honored at a special event at the House of Blues. He also performed alongside Fergie at the one-day event.

While most of Slash's upcoming shows are club and small theater dates, he does have a rather high profile gig in a few weeks. On September 13, he'll join Nicole Scherzinger in celebrating the opening of the new Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J., with a special tailgate concert before the New York Jets take on the Baltimore Ravens. Green Day will perform at halftime with the cast of the 'American Idiot' musical.
