The actor certainly wasn't a one-trick pony -- he stuck around for the performance of 'People Have the Power,' for which Smith was also joined by Ben Harper, Dhani Harrison, the Dixie Chicks' Natalie Maines and Joseph Arthur. Vedder traded verses with Smith and sang with Maines on the chorus.
The artists were in town to rally around the West Memphis Three, three young men who were convicted for murders many believe they didn't commit. "I'm also here to show my support for the West Memphis Three," Vedder said that night, "and try to raise the visibility of the case at this crucial time ... Why are they innocent? Because there's nothing that says they're guilty."
Earlier in the evening, Vedder played 'Rise' from the 'Into the Wild' soundtrack and covered a Tom Waits song, 'Rains on Me.' He was later joined by Maines on John Doe's 'Golden State' and James Taylor's 'You Can Close Your Eyes.'
