Slipknot's Joey Jordison Tops Prestigious Drumming Poll

Mick Hutson, Idols
Following up in second place was Mike Portnoy of Dream Theatre while the third and fourth places were secured by Porcupine Tree's Gavin Harrison and Rush's Neil Peart. And Dave Grohl? Well, he's to be found in fifth position.
According to the BBC, Jordison -- famed for his twin bass drums -- said that he was "at a loss for words. This is beyond unbelievable. Something like this reminds me every day why I continue to do this."
Chris Barnes, Rhythm magazine's editor, was fulsome in his praise of the drummer's "mind-blowing technicality and ability to bolster any project with his unique sound and style."
In addition to Slipknot, Jordison has also lent his considerable talents to Rob Zombie, Metallica and Ministry, while his side-project, Murderdolls, saw him vacate the drum stool in favour of the guitar but as this polls proves, it's the day job that he'll be remembered for.
