Guns N' Roses Bottled Off at Dublin Show

Guns N' Roses were bottled off the stage at a gig in Dublin on Wednesday night, Sept. 1.

When they arrived an hour late on stage at The O2, the band were met with a hail of bottles and booing as they started up with 'Welcome to the Jungle'.

In a fan's video of the gig (via Gigwise) frontman Axl Rose stopped the band, saying, "Alright, here's the deal: one more bottle, we go home. It's up to you."

"We would like to stay. Do you want us to stay? We want to stay, we want to have some fun. If you don't want to have fun, all you've got to do is let us know -- we got no problem -- and we'll go on our way."

Guns N' Roses continued playing, managing three more songs before departing the stage after more bottles were thrown.

Several announcements were then made, announcing that the venue was trying to sort out the "technical difficulties."

A member of staff or promoter then came on stage and announced, "We're trying hard to get Axl back on stage. I would ask you to refrain from throwing items at him. I promise you a great show, but you need to calm. I'm sorry about this."

According to the video's creator, the lights came up and many people left before the band returned and played a short set to the hopeful audience who had lingered behind.

It follows the dramas at the Leeds and Reading festivals, where the band were, late both times and had their set curtailed, as Spinner reported in less than favourable reviews.

Rose has started a war of words with organisers, claiming the band were within the terms of their contract, and asking, given the band's reputation, "Why book us?" It's a question promoters the world over will be asking themselves.

Comparing GnR to the Stones is like comparing a cardboard box to a palace. Axl Rose is not now, nor ever was, anything even close to Mick Jagger, talentwise or otherwise.
BTW, does Axl still sound like Janis Joplin with a bad head cold?

hell,i dident even mention metallica, pantera, smashing pumpkins, van halen, collective soul, the white stripes, janes addiction, green day or a dozen other U.S. bands that are still out there rockin it out! can anyone say aerosmith? keep your coldplay, useless 2,and the rest of your bands that just flat out suck, stevie ray vaughn had more talent in his little finger then all the eurotrash put together! go now and contemplate that reality.

When James of Metallica had to be hospitalized due to the pyro-debacle way back when, it was little Axel and GnR that could have saved the day. The only person of worth anymore is Slash for two reasons. Firstly, he can still play as is evidenced by Velvet Underground, and secondly because he can, and does, fairly accurate commentary on Bands and Musicians who are reviewed on TV.

sure, axel is a bit older, chunkier, and still has the bandana, but nothing about GNR has really changed.except maybe having steven adler kicking ass on drums! they were late to the stage all through the eighties and ninetys. slash still outplays every british guitar player that ever came down the pike save maybe jimmy page,or eric clapton!you guys in ireland, england, and the rest of europe need to show some respect. if it werent for GNR and the bands from seattle(grunge) nirvana, alice in chains, pearl jam, stp, and even the great wilson sisters of heart, rock would have died in 1989! bow down.

There are a lot of bans that are far beyond their prime. I saw Chicago in Wisconsin this summer and they sucked. The were attempting to be what they once were. And they were the greatest years ago. Just give it up and go play in some bar venue or just enjoy the royalties. -or just go away.

How about this? "they f***ing suck at life" I'm just saying. What a bunch of losers. If they couldn't play what could they do? Change our oil at Walmart maybe? I'm pretty sure they all share a brain so it's just a matter of who has it, and what day.

you know that bands of the 80s are past their prime but the crap that keeps coming out cant even compare these kids DONT have talent most of them their voices are on synthesizers, the lyrics suck and we havent had REAL music in years.... and the style OMG the style. its an anything goes, whatever you are comfortable in and ive seen kids wearing stuff my grandma has in her closet, the spandex of the 80s are back out mixed with hippie clothes tie dyed, skinnies, flares,, gogo boots,, lmfao.. try getting a style of your own instead of mixing everything from the past.. i just laugh..

Axl to me was always overratted vocally. If you want to see his previous band members with a better lead singer check out the first Velvet Revolver records. Weiland blows Axl away and despite all his drug problems I'm pretty sure he's on time for his shows. It's too bad he left the band. Chinese Democracy had a few rare moments but for the most part, belated junk. No real passion, nothing like Appetite or Use Your Illusion. It was like listening to another band try to do a contemporary version of Guns. As a person who admittedly is late to a lot of things, if I was a famous rocker I'd always show my audience the proper respect and at least start my performance on time. I would rather see another VR record (with Weiland)than another Chinese Monstrosity!

Last time G n R played here they came on at 1:30 in the AM. The opening band started at 5:30 on a weekday night. I got news for Axel, most of his fans have to hire babysitters now and for them to stay out until that hour on a week night is unrealistic. And for what? That dreck he puts out now... really? Ax. all the botox in the world is not going to make your current music any better or your face for that matter.
