Radiohead Donate Soundtrack to Fan-Made Live Film

It's the kind of behaviour that would have driven old-school managers like Peter Grant apoplectic with rage, but Radiohead have given soundboard recordings from their performance in Prague in August 2009 to the Czech makers of a fan-made live DVD. And what's more, fans can download the film and soundtrack for free.

The amateur film -- shot by 50 camera people in various part of the venue using a cheap Flip digital video camera -- is redolent of Beastie Boys' 'Awesome; I F------' Shot That!' and so impressed Radiohead that the Oxford band felt compelled to lend their support to the project.

A message on the Radiohead-Prague website that hosts the film reads, "A group of Radiohead fans descended on the Výstaviště Holešovice exhibition hall in Prague to capture the band perform, using as many different angles as possible."

As well as being able to download the whole set for free, fans can also access a version for iPhone's while Czech fans have the added option of receiving a free CD of the gig. As part of the altruistic endeavour, the site points out the film and its attendant formats is "strictly not for sale. By the fans, for the fans. Please share and enjoy."
