Levon Helm Challenges My Morning Jacket to 'Midnight Ramble'

Whether you want to call him Yim Yames or Jim James, the frontman for My Morning Jacket recently made a semi-surprise appearance with Levon Helm (The Band) at a special club appearance in San Francisco, as part of the festivities surrounding Outside Lands. And while both the Levon Helm Band and My Morning Jacket performed at the festival itself, the three-song collaboration ended there. Until now.

Jambands.com reports that on Oct. 16, Yames (er, James) will link back up with Helm, this time accompanied by his Jacket bandmates. And this time its proper -- the jam will be held at Levon Helm Studios in Woodstock, N.Y. as part of Helm's legendary 'Midnight Ramble' series.

But if you're just finding out about this now, don't get too excited -- tickets, which are nearly impossible to get to begin with, are completely sold out. But hey, it's not all bad news: tickets for a few of the other 'Midnight Rambles' are still available, including standing-room-only passes for an Oct. 9 ramble with Steve Earl. Or they were, anyway, at press time anyway.
