Lead singer Luke Jenner waited to almost the end of the band's one-hour set to announce the new song, entitled 'Sail Away.' As Jenner articulated the lyrics and bandmates pelted the synths, it became clear the pop song left behind the band's earlier punk proclivities and headed into more New Wave territory.
Before performing the new song, Rapture conjured a dance party with opener 'Don Gon Do It' from 'Pieces.' Everyone in the crowd including children and a girl who brought her own pom poms danced nonstop for most of the set. Jenner's howling vocals intercut with kinetic live footage of the band and drug-addled visuals on three screens. 'Get Myself Into It' offered a sax and cowbell solo and a favorite from 'Echoes,' 'House of Jealous Lovers,' incited some fans to rush the stage and dance along with the band.
"I'm going to fall down," a breathless Jenner told the crowd. The band played the humorously titled 'Whoo! Alright, Yeah...Uh Huh,' then delved into earlier songs 'Killing' and 'Echoes.' After they played the new song, the rave-like momentum halted until the end of the set. On the slower paced 'Open Up Your Heart,' Jenner encouraged fans that if they had a crush on someone at the festival, now would be a good time to pursue it. 12 songs later, Rapture wrapped up their set and the festival with the experimental electronica of 'Olio.' The remaining crowd moved their bodies to the pulsating glitchiness and once the song ended, in unison each band member waved goodbye and walked offstage.
