Such news should satiate the Harvey faithful, even though last year she released 'A Woman a Man Walked By,' her second collaboration with her longtime pal, songwriter/producer John Parish. Harvey's last proper release was 2007's piano-driven album 'White Chalk,' a vastly underrated collection of songs that drifted away from the guitar-centric qualities of her catalog and showed a more personable, vulnerable side of her. Over the last year though, she's played two new songs live, 'Let England Shake' and 'The Last Living Rose,' that were written using the autoharp.
"All I can say is that I am pleased with it, because I feel it's a grand departure from anything before," she told Spinner back in 2009. "If I've done that, then for me, it's worked. I'm already feeling like I did, and I'm happy. I'm very pleased because I'm not repeating myself."
At this point, we'd assume nothing less from miss Harvey. Check out a performance of 'The Last Living Rose' below.
