Phish, String Cheese, Others Band Together For Colorado Wildfire Relief Benefit

In a surprise announcement, a recently reunited (and still rarely seen) String Cheese Incident will join Big Head Todd & the Monsters, Yonder Mountain String Band and Leftover Salmon's Vince Herman and Drew Emmitt on Saturday, Oct. 9 for what is being billed as "an unprecedented night of music." The occasion? A benefit for the Boulder Mountain Fire Relief, which gives much needed support to the local fire departments that boldly fought the recent wildfire in Fourmile Canyon and to the mountain residents whose lives were directly impacted by the disaster. Hence the event's title: the Fourmile Canyon Revival.

The above Colorado bands will be joined by four very special guests, listed as "Jon Fishman, Mike Gordon, Page McConnell and Trey Anastasio" -- collectively known as Phish. A spokesperson for the event tells Spinner that the Phish men will likely be sitting in throughout the event as opposed to performing a proper set themselves, as a unit. The following night, Phish will kick off their fall tour with a sold-out, three-night run at the same venue -- the mid-sized 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colo.
