According to Blabbermouth, Tyler's new tune will serve as the theme for the upcoming Japanese movie 'Space Battleship Yamato.' The 62-year-old rocker reportedly penned the ballad, which will also be released on Nov. 24 in acoustic, piano and instrumental versions, after receiving a video of the film's final battle scene and a complete script translated to English.
The song is apparently written from the point of view of an individual hoping to protect a loved one. The film, which stars Takuya Kimura and Meisa Kuroki, opens in Japan on Dec. 1.
As for Aerosmith, who wrapped their summer tour in Calgary earlier this month, things became strained again after guitarist Joe Perry described 'American Idol' as "one step above Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles." But band insider and one-time Geffen executive John Kalodner recently offered his own insights on Tyler's new career moves to the New York Post.
"Joe is completely wrong. It's jealousy," Kalodner said, adding that, "If [Tyler] makes a giant success as a TV personality, he won't want to go back on the road. And there is no Aerosmith without Steven Tyler. Period." Check out a sample of Tyler's new single below.

I agree this is just horrible!

TMNT was a work of creativity, not a pre-packaged ad campaign disguised as a singing competition. Dude, you're 80 years old and you wear make-up. You have no room to say you're above anything.

Joe Perry should be jumping for joy his name is not on this...the music fights the picture constantly, and the Japanese language is too quick for the slow paced song....Sorry Tyler, get yourself some geratol and try another cut.
