Jay-Z and Coldplay Join Forces for Las Vegas New Year's Gig

Just a week after Coldplay frontman Chris Martin joined hip-hop giant and close friend Jay-Z onstage at Yankee Stadium, Hova and the 'Viva la Vida' singer have announced plans to team up again. This time, Martin will bring his bandmates to the party, when Coldplay and rapper ring in 2011 in Las Vegas.

Both acts will headline the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas Casino-Resort celebration on Dec. 31, just two weeks after the newly minted vacation destination opens its doors. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the concerts will be part of a three-day, invitation-only celebration, with both acts sharing the stage and performing individual sets.

Las Vegas music fans who don't receive an invite need not fret. Plans are in the works to broadcast the gig on the hotel's massive, 65-foot marquee adjacent to the Vegas Strip. Check out Jay-Z and Martin performing at Yankee Stadium below.
