"I believe in music, I believe in rock 'n' roll, I believe in friendship and family," he said. "But you know what, on the 8th December will be time (sic) when I stopped doing dope ... I started drinking again. I got divorced, my wife ... and my whole world basically spun around and so you know what, I'm gonna take care of myself because that's what I need to take care of ... Instead of just having a few shows, I wanna have a whole hell of a lot of shows."
With this behavior and the canceled dates, rumors are popping up that Weiland is heading down the same path he traveled in 2008 when he greeted fans with similarly odd stage banter and then spent time in rehab. But 2010 year has seen a new album and lengthy tour from the band, so, by all accounts, things were going fine as far as Weiland was concerned.
According to Stone Temple Pilots' website, the next date scheduled is for Oct. 8 at the Saint Pete Times Forum, in Tampa, Fla. Check out video from the Dallas performance below.

What a drag! thought i was taking my 14 year old to one of the best 90's bands. Stay off the shit scott!

This is just one more of them. They will fall and greatness will pass them by. If you are old enough you will remember Crosby Stills Nash and Young and along with Jethro Tull, The Eagles and others. These groupes were in every respect some of the best of the best. For what ever reasons they disbanded. I'm not saying that they were not great but they didn't get nearly all that should have came their way. The worst part is that we will never get to hear what they may have given us.

September 23 2010 at 1:24 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyYeah apparently someone handed them a calendar and they saw it was no longer 1992 when they were relevant. They were just a crummy Pearl Jam ripoff at the time. If your still listening to them your retarded. Your musical tastes should mature and become more intelligent. This group's target market was junior high schoolers and if you still are listening to them your mentality is no more advanced then a junior highschooler. Scott needs to overdose and stop teasing us!

September 23 2010 at 4:19 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI saw STP early on and they ROCKED ! Since then too many hard drugs have screwed with Scott's head .What a great band they had .
September 22 2010 at 10:25 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyWhen 1992? Your a grown man and you listen to STP? Do you still wear Cross Colours and wear Cavariccis? They have never been relevant. Thats like still eating baby formula at your age. Its meant for when your not fully matured. Bands like the Beatles you hang on to, bands like STP you get embarassed having ever bought thier album. Scott came into music as a Pearl Jam cover band and they arent even relevant anymore. They were making mindless shit music by thier 2nd album. You people are such losers.
September 23 2010 at 2:00 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyGreat band, but a shame, Scott Weiland, I guess is a 'creep' who's now only 'half the man he used to be.'
September 22 2010 at 10:03 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyI'm afraid the band is going to turn into one of those legendary bands with the tragic dead singer, like all the rest, from day one you always had a feeling about it and sure enough, mark my words, just like Nirvana, Alice in Chains etc.....
September 22 2010 at 9:24 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyBuying tickets to see STP is about the same as buying a lotto ticket. Some folks get what they wanted, but most just get a worthless piece of paper.
September 22 2010 at 9:06 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyIt wasn't in Dallas...it was in Houston. I was there Sunday night. It was crazy and very disappointing.
September 22 2010 at 8:50 PM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplyIt's a shame. It prevents their crowd from seeing openin act Cage the Elephant. An incredible band with an increible sound.
