Robyn Makes a Fool of Herself on 'Gossip Girl'

It's been a rather nice September for Swedish pop starlet Robyn. After being invited to perform with Deadmau5 on the MTV VMAs, a tweet revealed she'd hopped over to the set of 'Gossip Girl',' presumably to tape an appearance of sorts. So what was she actually doing there? Love interest of Chuck Bass? Duet with Taylor Momsen?

"My character was me! I was there as myself," Robyn tells Spinner. "We performed a song, me and one of the guys in my band. We decided to call it acting. We were just standing around, no lines, but just making a fool out of ourselves, basically."

While we can certainly see 'Don't F---ing Tell Me What to Do,' the lead track off of 'Body Talk Pt. 1,' fitting quite nicely into the 'Gossip Girl' aesthetic, she went a mellower route.

"We did an acoustic version of 'Hang with Me,'" she says. "I'd love to tell you everything, but I'm not allowed, I don't think."

Robyn's currently back in Sweden, putting the finishing touches on the third album of the 'Body Talk' trilogy that's been trickling out over this year. Still, for someone writing stellar club-pop songs these days, she seems to be quite focused on the traction she's gained in the US this year and getting a good night's sleep could be the key to staying grounded.

"I was so tired. I flew in from Berlin, so I just went straight to bed after," she says of her time spent after the VMAs. "Quite boring, but I had a really good night. I sat next to Rick Ross, which was nice."
