Time for the annual griping and debating among the rock-fan masses -- the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has announced its 2011 nominees for induction.

Among the 15 artists, first-time nominees include Bon Jovi, Tom Waits, Neil Diamond, Donovan and Alice Cooper. Previously nominated artists include rockers J. Geils Band, rap stars LL Cool J and the Beastie Boys, New Orleans legend Dr. John, disco queen Donna Summer, R&B act Chic and singers Laura Nyro, Darlene Love, Chuck Willis and Joe Tex.

The inductees will be announced sometime in December, with the official ceremony and concert being held at New York City's Waldorf Astoria on March 14. Last year, the Stooges, Genesis, the Hollies, ABBA and Jimmy Cliff made the cut.

How's about The Guess Who from Canada? You can't dent their success - they outsold The Beatles at mutual times over their careers - yet not even a nomination? What's wrong with this process?

The Goo Goo Dolls should be nominated!

Some I never heard of. Some are definitely way overdue. But Donovan? Just proves if you've been around long enough, sooner or later you get nominated, and if you get nominated often enough, you get in. Yes, sometimes this IS a freakin' joke.
