Who: Deluka
Hail From: Birmingham
Why We Love Them: The combination of frontwoman Ellie Innocenti's soaring vocals coupled with her band's infectious, dance-punk aesthetic means these Brits-turned-Brooklynites will easily win over fans of the likes of Metric and fellow countrymen Franz Ferdinand.

Exclusive Q&A With Singer/guitarist Ellie Innocenti:
What's your favorite album right now and why?
My favorite album right now is Beach House's 'Teen Dream.' We've been yo-yoing around the West Coast in a van over the past three weeks and it's been providing me with the perfect soundtrack to the changing scenery. It's perfect escapism music -- lush, epic, dreamy and tender.
Tell us about the first concert you ever saw.
The first concert I ever saw was Oasis at Knebworth. My older sister took me with her boyfriend, much to the envy of all my friends. I was super young and really small, and spent most of the concert on the shoulders of my sister's boyfriend, just so I could catch a glimpse. I remember it was the sheer size of the gig that made the impact on me rather than the show itself. The Prodigy were the main support and I remember how shocking, aggressive and exciting their performance was. I got home and wrote in my diary about the atmosphere of the show, which kind of makes me laugh now. Shortly after that I snuck my way into almost every Britpop band that was around at that time -- the good and the bad.
What's your biggest vice?
I guess my biggest vice is alcohol ... but I'm not about to give that one up.
What's the story behind your band's name?
The name comes from the film 'Pretty Woman.' We named ourselves after the prostitute friend of Julia Roberts' -- 'Kit Deluca.' She is sassy, funny, a bit vulnerable and has the best one-liners. It's really not to be taken too seriously though -- it's just a name.
When you stop making music, what's the one thing you want people to remember about you?
Hopefully people will just remember the songs. lf someone has just one of our songs that they keep revisiting over time and it moves them in some way, then that's good enough for me.
