Recently signed to Dine Alone Records, home of Alexisonfire and Tokyo Police Club, this Montreal trio may still be opening for larger acts (Saturday night for New York rocker Marnie Stern) but give them a year and they'll be headlining shows just as big.
Singers Cooper and Louis Jackson trade off verses and harmonize perfectly creating tight melodies that are memorable budding pop hits in the making. Musically, they sound messy and raw but their strong core of pop sensibilities, '80s post-punk edge and spot-on singalong lyrics is astounding on record and tenfold live.
Cooper, Jackson and Drummer Jeremy MacCuish all rock long, asymmetrical haircuts that swing in the air as their hair flips and dramatic flings have become a signature characteristic that defines the band.
Though the majority of the band's material is now two years old, songs like 'Pen to the Paper' and 'Hiccup' are still crowd favourites and are exhilarating to hear every time.
Their debut album was recently re-released by Dine Alone and the band will releasing a new EP entitled 'Hell/Heaven/Big/Love' on Oct. 19.
