Iron and Wine Releasing 'Kiss Each Other Clean' Album on Warner

Iron and Wine, the whispery, hyper-literate folk project from former film professor Sam Beam, has jumped from indie stalwart Sub Pop to the majors. 'Kiss Each Other Clean,' Beam's fourth LP, will be released on Warner Bros. Records in the US in January 2011. 4AD will handle European distribution on the project -- his first work since 2007's 'The Shepherd's Dog,' which was nearly universally acclaimed and peaked at No. 24 on the Billboard's Top 200 chart.

Beam and his bearded brethren will test out their new material in a November tour that will reach prominent cities in the Midwest and South. Starting Nov. 11 in St. Louis, Iron and Wine will perform in Memphis, Asheville, Atlanta, Jacksonville, Miami Beach, Tallahassee, New Orleans and Houston during the jaunt.

Sub Pop originally signed the 36-year-old Beam in 2002 after receiving demos from Yeti Magazine founder and editor Mike McGonigal. The shift to Warner ends Iron and Wine's eight-year relationship with the storied Pacific Northwest label.
