"Like many musicians, I like dabbling in all the arts -- film being one of them," Alva tells Spinner. "With our new album 'Adventures in Coverland,' it was a chance to give directing a try. This video was inspired by a scene in an Elvis movie called 'Roustabout,' and out of all the songs on the album, 'Walkin' After Midnight' made the most sense to me."
The classic cut -- written by Block Hecht but made famous in the late 1950s by Patsy Cline -- made the most sense to the rest of the band as well. "We have been huge fans of Patsy Cline and Nina [Diaz]'s voice is often compared to her vocal stylings," drummer Phanie Diaz tells Spinner. "We all agreed that 'Walkin' After Midnight' was a perfect fit for us to remake."
While the finished product has a distinct vintage feel, don't think the band is only focusing on the past. Alva says that she's "very pleased with the results and I hope to do videos in the future." Great. But first thing's first -- check out this one below.
