"Hi everybody," they wrote. "We just wanted to let you all know that Claudia has left the band for personal reasons. In the meantime, we are excited to continue to write and tour as usual, and we're very much looking forward to seeing you all at our upcoming shows."
The letter is signed by Deheza's sister Alejandra, as well as the group's leader and former Secret Machines member Benjamin Curtis.
Deheza's departure comes after the group released its second full-length album, 'Disconnect From Desire,' on July 13 via Vagrant Records/Ghostly International. The band has already been playing shows as a two-piece and will complete a national tour that will bring them from Florida to New York for CMJ before splitting across the Atlantic Ocean for shows in France, Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom. Thereafter, it's unknown if Curtis and Deheza will continue as a duo or add an additional member.
The Deheza sisters were also formerly in a group called On!Air!Library!. Claudia's departure represents the first break in consistent musical collaboration among the twins since that band formed in 1998.
