"Bring your friends, bring your children, and bring foot spray because it's going to be funky," Prince told reporters. "Come early, come often ... no two shows will be the same."
According to the Billboard report, while details remain sketchy at best, Prince will not only perform, but he'll also assume a maestro-like role, leading a cast that will include Cassandra Wilson, Maceo Parker, Esperanza Spalding, Mint Condition and Janelle Monae. All in all it sounds like the kind of grand theatrical extravaganza deserving of Prince's royal legacy.
Just in case you were wondering, Prince still lives, as director Kevin Smith would say, in a Prince world. A gold-plated Fender guitar that was on display during the press conference will be auctioned off at the end of the tour to raise money for the Harlem Empowerment Zone. No word on whether or not, as a bonus, the winner will also receive a stack of pancakes.
