Little Dragon Shines at Treasure Island Music Festival

After aerobic, blunt-forced, and meathead-friendly sets from !!! and the Austrian trip-hop duo Kruder & Dorfmeister, the biggest star turn on the first day of San Francisco's Treasure Island Festival may have come in the smallest package.

Fronted by the tiny, big-voiced Yukimi Nagano, Swedish synthpop quartet and Gorillaz collaborators Little Dragon played an ethereal eight-song set that included the melancholy 'Never Never' and 'Looking Glass' from their latest album 'Machine Dreams.'

All eyes were on Little Dragon's little dragon Nagano. When she wasn't hypnotizing us with her vocals, Nagano was pirouetting in her sparkly shawl and banging on a cymbal, back-to-back with her drummer Erik Boden. "I wanna hear you say 'Yeah!'" she screeched during their last song, 'Feather.' We did as told, transfixed.
