Oh Land, 'Sun of a Gun' -- Video Premiere

With the debut of Danish songstress Oh Land finally dropping, it's time to make good on all the hype that's surrounded her since she splashed big this past March at SXSW. But, given her first single, 'Sun of a Gun,' that shouldn't be hard to do. The visually arresting video is intended as a thematic complement to the song itself.

"Last year I spent a few months in the heat of L.A.," Oh Land tells Spinner. "After watching a beautiful sunset in Griffith Park, I thought to myself: 'Just stay down, sun. I've had enough; I wanna live in darkness.' And that became the metaphor for a love relationship. We rotate around the sun and we are dependent on it at the same time as it is a symbol of danger and something we need to protect ourselves from."

Of course, all this comes from a girl from Denmark where, in the summer months, the sun never really seems to go away completely. But, come winter, well, maybe our lady of Oh Land isn't just letting her imagination run wild, after all. Except, perhaps, in this undeniably alluring and original video that she says was filmed in the "beautiful landscape of Oh Land." We're not arguing with that. Check it out below.
