As exclusively revealed by Spinner, Burgess has been working with the Horrors' guitarist Josh Hayward and Klaxons drummer Steffan Halperin on the follow-up to 2003's 'I Believe' but it's his work on 'Just One Kiss' with Ladyhawke's Pip Brown that has him most excited.
Speaking to NME.com, Burgess said, "It sounds like a Christmas No.1, it has to come out soon. We've been having a really good time on that one. It's great, it's really good, it has a sort of Phil Spector-ish, Ronettes kind of feel to it."
Burgess will undoubtedly be facing stiff competition in the battle to secure the coveted festive poll position in the UK singles charts. The controversial seventh series of 'X Factor' is under way with the potential of a holiday hit available to the winner.
Alternatively, following the success of last year's Facebook campaign to send Rage Against the Machine's 'Killing in the Name' to the top of the charts to thwart 'X Factor' winner Joe McElderry, a new campaign has started with the aim of sending John Cage's silent 1952 composition, '4' 33,''' to the Christmas No. 1 slot.

Much as I like Tim Burgess, there is something quite appealing about a "silent" song getting to number 1 at Christmas...
