What's That Song From the Xbox 360 Kinect Commercial?

'Yeah,' LCD Soundsystem
When LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy put a "yeah, yeah, yeah" chorus to music in 2004 for the aptly titled track 'Yeah,' it's doubtful that the eternally hip producer and frontman had a game console in mind. It's questionable if Murphy even knew that the song -- which is just LCD Soundsystem's third single ever -- would make it onto the band's self-titled debut, which didn't officially drop until the following year.
Conversely, Microsoft knew full well what its hopes were for the Kinect, a new motion-control accessory for the Xbox 360. In fact, the company reportedly spent $30,000 on the first prototype -- not even counting research and development.
And while we have yet to see what consumers have to say about the actual product, Kinect's commercial has the viewer immediately thinking positively, caught up in the parade of "yeah, yeah, yeah" chanting. It's almost impossible for viewers to not want to sing along by the end of it. That's a score for Microsoft, sure, but is it also a win for LCD Soundsystem? Heck, "yeah," it is.
