The gig was originally recorded as part of the long-running Austin City Limits TV concert series on March 28 2008, and is now being released in a fleshed-out format by New West Records.
Previously unbroadcast material on the 17 track DVD includes 'So. Central Rain (I'm Sorry),' 'Fall on Me' and 'Imitation of Life.'
Several tracks from R.E.M.'s 2008's 'Accelerate' album were captured live for the first time at the recording too, as the band were captured the week the album was released.
Austin City Limits producer Terry Lickona comments, "Their ACL appearance captures R.E.M. at a pivotal moment in their career -- still breaking new ground -- and still doing it their way."
PBS will also re-air the original broadcast of R.E.M.'s performance on Nov. 27.
