Jeff Tweedy, Sheryl Crow and the Roots Performing at Rally to Restore Sanity

On top of the expected political jokes, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert's Rally to Restore Sanity and/or Fear will have a pretty excellent music lineup. As the Christian Science Monitor reports (via Rolling Stone), Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy, Sheryl Crow and the Roots have been confirmed to appear at Saturday's highly publicized event in Washington D.C.

The partial lineup was revealed when the publication got hold of the rally's National Park Service permit. According to the schedule, the Roots will kick off the event with a 40-minute set at 12PM ET.

Tweedy will join Mavis Staples, whose 'You Are Not Alone' album he recently produced, for a 10-minute slot at 1:40PM. Crow will take the stage at 2:15PM for approximately five minutes. Other musical and comedic guests are still being confirmed.

The rally will stream live on the network and Comedy Central's website.
