"When you have new record it always feels different," Allman said in a statement. "It's been too long. I guess I was just born with a lot of gypsy in my soul."
The album, which was tracked before the iconic performer and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer underwent a liver transplant this past June, also includes one original. That track, 'Just Another Rider,' was penned with Allman Brothers Band guitarist Warren Haynes. 'Low Country Blues' also marks Allman's first release since his longtime collaborator, producer/engineer Tom Dowd, died in 2002.
Named for the coastal region of Georgia where Allman lives, the album was recorded at Burnett's Village Recorder studio in Los Angeles and includes pianist Dr. John, guitarist Doyle Bramhall II, bassist Dennis Crouch and drummer Jay Bellerose.
