Jay-Z Hints at Running for President

Jay-Z has said he is considering swapping music for politics -- and running for US president.

Not one to aim low, the rapper has revealed a penchant for politics and has set a timescale of eight years for his transformation from a music man into one of the most powerful people in the world, reports BBC Newsbeat.

The blurring of celebrity and politician is becoming increasingly prominent in recent times, although not always completely successful -- Wyclef Jean's recent aborted attempt at becoming Haiti president acts as a jarring reminder of the pitfalls of inexperience.

Speaking about becoming US president, Jay-Z said, "Give me a chance. Maybe in eight years, I'll be the president."

As Barack Obama's Democratic Party goes through uneasy mid-term elections, the rapper believes President Obama needs time to sort things out.

He added, "In order to judge someone, you have to judge what they inherit. He inherited the worst economy, war, just a horrible time in American history. So if we think he can solve that, I mean, we don't think he's God, do we? He's a human being. He's going to need time to figure that out."

As previously reported by AOL Music UK, a British tourist in New York was the first person to find a page of Jay-Z's upcoming autobiography as part of a worldwide scavenger hunt, winning the opportunity to meet the rapper.

To Alicia Smith, as to why Obama is unfit to be president, well take a good long look around you and then you will see that Obama is a complete failure as president. He has done nothing but lie and all his campaign promises were again nothing but lies. He promises transparency in government, yet everything is done behind closed doors and the public is kept in the dark. He promised a bipartisn government, but all he does is trash the Republican Party and he refuses to work with them.He bows down to our enemies, he knocks america when visiting our enemies, especially the muslims who he caters to as they are his people, he has made us the laughing stock of the world. The Russian leader Putin laughs at Obama. He has bankrupted our country with his spending and he will be raising taxes .especially the cap in trade bill which will causes more companies to move overseas. I have given you the tip of the iceberg as to why Obama is unfit to be president.

Personally I hate the fact that we are not standing together as a Nation! Jay-Z meets the 3 requirements.
* natural-born citizens of the United States
* at least thirty-five years old
* must have been resident in the United States for at least fourteen years
The point is WE (has no color!!) can be whatever we want to be with hard work and determination!! Lets stand by our current President and when its time for a new one lets stand by that President as well. People, people, people. (shaking my head)

We can't help where we are from but we can certainly help the direction in which we travel. From Marcy projects to Mega Millions, like Jay said in his song 'U don't know': "Mama ain't raise no fool put me anywhere on God's green earth I'll triple my worth. I will not lose!" I am not mad at that Jay, you got my vote!

To jennifer and the rest of you Obama lovers, even though Obama was and is totally unfit to be president, the only reason you voted for him is because he is black. You are the real racists out there!

"Jay-Z has said he is considering swapping music for politics -- and running for U. S. President."

How can he swap WHAT HE'S NEVER HAD? That noise he spews AIN'T MUSIC! And don't call it singing, either. When have you heard SINGING from a RAPPER? No, all he does is TALK! The words JUST HAPPEN to rhyme. Just a talentless son of a BITCH BASTARD!

GotDAMMIT I'm sick of you people beatin' up PresGWB. That man has been blamed for some of the most distant-from-his-office bull$#it ever. When are you going to give him credit for standing in front of the entire planet (The UN!), screaming for help in this war on terrorism? When you say he buried young people (military people), who were the only ones fighting this damn war? It was US! That man busted his gotdam @ss trying to win, and Congress half-supplied, half-trained, and half-@$$ed the whole daggon military, and NO ONE acknowledges his good efforts. You people can go straight to HE__ as far as I'm concerned.

And if you think I'm gonna live up under Crazy Jay-Z as President, you can kiss my All-American, All-Marine, natural Black a$$. F#ck that noise.

Well, Jay Z definitely will need those 8 years to prove himself. I dont believe that human beings should be judged by there past. Some people may have an awakening in this lifetime and dont necessarilty need to wait for the next to become better people. But issue is his past is going to haunt him therefore that is the karma behind it. Sorry Jay z-in the next life it is yours! It wont hurt to try. But karma is karma.
