Jeff Bridges Recording Solo Album With 'Crazy Heart' Musicians

'Big Lebowski' star Jeff Bridges finally received recognition from the Academy Awards for his acting talents in 2009's 'Crazy Heart,' an ode to music so robust that it's not surprising he's now hitting the studio with his collaborators for a new album. The record is slated to feature all new songs that have been penned by Bridges with the help of Ryan Bingham, the singer-songwriter who wrote the music from 'Crazy Heart.' Iconic producer T Bone Burnett, who also worked on the movie, will man the boards and shape the currently untitled record.

After so much acclaim for his role -- not to mention his odd inclusion in the remake of 'We Are the World' earlier this year -- it's not surprising that the music lover in Bridges still needs to get a few songs out. He has yet to comment on what the new record will sound like, but it's been confirmed that EMI/Blue Note Records will be handling the release and distribution.

In the meantime, Bridges is also busy with his day job. He is currently slated to star in 'Tron: Legacy,' which premieres Dec. 17. The next week he will join with Matt Damon and Josh Brolin in 'True Grit,' in which he will play an aging US Marshal in the Coen Brothers' remake of the 1969 John Wayne western.
