So how did Wyatt get roped into joining the taping? "I was working in the studio with Mark until like five in the morning last night and he called me this morning, woke me up, and said, 'Can you come to AOL and do this thing with me?'" Wyatt told Spinner. "So I get out of bed, I come there, by the time I'm even woken up I'm on the stage and I'm ready to do this song, which is a great place to be actually. You can get really good performances when you just wake up out of a dream."
According to Wyatt, their friendship goes back a long time. "We've known each other since we were both struggling dudes in the basement," he says. "We've kind of come up together, sort of grown up together in the music business, so it's really special to do stuff with Mark. It's always fun."
After working together all night, Ronson had a simple explanation for having Wyatt come to the studio. "I was thinking if we're gonna play four songs and we want to represent the record as best as we can, that's by far one of the best songs on the record," he said of 'Somebody to Love Me,' which also features Boy George.
"He's one of my dearest friends. He's had Christmas lunch at my mom's house," Ronson added "The other thing that I really love about Andrew and the success of Miike Snow is that like I think Andrew and I were kind of struggling and fledgling writing producers in New York around the same time. It wasn't until either of us got into our early 30s that we had any sort of success, but I always thought he was so talented."
