Lily Allen Hospitalized for Blood Poisoning

Lily Allen was rushed to the hospital on Friday night, just days after suffering her second miscarriage.

The 'Smile' singer was six months pregnant when she lost her baby earlier this week and had been recovering at home on Friday when she tweeted a message to her fans that she was "still very sick but the messages are helping me to be stronger."

Several hours later, she was hospitalized again, receiving treatment for septicemia (blood poisoning) -- a life-threatening condition referring to the presence of microbes in the blood, which can lead to sepsis.

"Lily Allen is back in hospital, where she is being treated for septicamia [sic]," her publicist said in a statement. "She is responding well to treatment and her condition continues to improve. Lily thanks everyone for their messages of support and again asks that she and partner Sam Cooper be left alone whilst she recovers."
