With the Pumpkins set to play the same Planeta Terra Festival in Sao Paulo, Brazil as Pavement, the frontman went on the offensive via Twitter, storming "Just found out SP is playing with Pavement in Brazil. It's gonna be 1 of those New Orleans type funerals ... I say that because they represent the death of the alternative dream, and we follow with the affirmation of life part..."
The singer continued, "Funny how those who pointed the big finger of 'sell out' are the biggest offenders now ... yawn. they have no love... by the way, we'll be the band up there playing NEW songs because we have the love xx."
Admirable sentiments Bill, except your own fans have often criticised the The Smashing Pumpkins' new output, with reports of them walking out of last year's gigs in disappointment at the new material-heavy sets. The band have spent most of 2010 releasing free tracks, but have a new EP, titled 'Teargarden By The Kaleidyscope Vol. II "The Solstice Bare",' available for release from Nov. 23.
