Ultra Music Festival Expands for 2011

It looks as though changes are afoot for the Ultra Music Festival in 2011 -- changes that, from most perspectives, would spell progress. First and most foremost, the electronic-focused music festival will expand from one to three days, beginning on March 25 and extending into March 27.

Additionally, the festival will now be completely unentangled from the previously concurrent Winter Music Conference, a SXSW-flavored electronic music event that traditionally takes over Miami, Fla. during March. While the two events cater to the same demographic and, in the past, have occurred at the same time, in the same city, the 2011 incarnation of the Ultra Music Festival is scheduled to trail WMC by a full two weeks, while still maintaining its downtown Miami home.

With a lineup that promises to include potentially three times as many acts as ever before, the one thing that fans can count on is that the Ultra Music Festival in 2011 will be more of the same... lots more. While the lineup announcement is still forthcoming, the Miami New Times has revealed that Crystal Castles (pictured) will just one of many acts on that final list. A limited amount of early bird tickets are now on-sale through the festival's official website.
