So it may be true that Rose Hill Drive once brought Pete Townsend onstage to help…

After a short absence, Rose Hill Drive are back on the scene and have confirmed that they will keep with tradition by covering another band's album, in its entirety, on New Year's Eve. If that sounds familiar, maybe it's because another jam band, Phish, upholds the same tradition on Halloween – this year, they covered Little Feat's 'Waiting for Columbus' in Atlantic City.
Rose Hill Drive have chosen to go with something a little more... heavy. And, unlike Phish, they won't keep fans guessing until curtain time – they're going with 'Elephant' by the White Stripes. And they're going to perform it, start to finish, on four consecutive nights in Colorado, most notably at their New Year's Eve show at the Fox Theatre in Boulder. They will also perform it at the same venue the night before. And on the night before that, on Dec. 29, they will debut their take on it at the Aggie Theatre in Ft. Collins. The remaining show takes place at the Belly Up in Aspen on Jan 2.
Each show will also feature a set of original Rose Hill Drive material, less you start to think you might be watching the 'White Stripes Experience.' Not that there'd be anything wrong with that. Speaking of, a message on Rose Hill Drive's website states: "Fans are encouraged to wear red and white -- the White Stripes signature colors -- to the shows." Duh.
